We were selected as one of the first Centres for Warmth funded by Northern Gas Networks (NGN) through Ofgem’s Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance (VCMA) fund.

As part of NGN’s programme Centres for Warmth are community-based safe spaces offering holistic support—covering energy advice, carbon monoxide awareness, fuel top-up vouchers, income maximisation, and connections to local aid agencies—to residents struggling with fuel poverty and related vulnerabilities.

Built around trusted grassroots organisations like us, we provide free practical services in a warm, welcoming environment for the Dyke House community. Beyond crisis support, we offer tailored training, wellbeing support, and referrals, operating under a model designed not just to meet immediate fuel poverty needs but to build long-term resilience and reduce dependency on ad-hoc aids.

Positioned within NGNs broader strategy—which by early 2025 had supported twenty such Centres and reached over 17,000 people across the North of England—we exemplify the approach of combining energy advice, social support, and community empowerment under one roof. By doing so, it helps turn energy vulnerability into collective action and local uplift.
